On a similar note, Josh Harrelson is also hoping to play his way back into the NBA via China.  He seems to be hitting it up pretty hard over there.

"Former Kentucky big man Josh Harrellson continues to put up huge numbers since his arrival to China’s NBL league. Harrellson, who plays for Chongqing Fly Dragon (14-3), had 21 points, 19 rebounds and 4 steals in a 96-74 win over Nanjin Army on Wednesday. Through 17 games, he is putting up 21.4 points, 18.8 rebounds, 2.6 blocks adn 2.4 steals per game.   Chongqing currently has a camplete two-game lead over three other teams in the regular season standings. NBL Standings   1. Chongqing FD 14-3 2. Sichuan BW 12-5 3. Changsha Bank 12-5 4. Jiangsu TX 12-5 5. Guangzhou L. 11-6 6. Hong Kong 10-7 7. Heilongjiang 6-11 8. Nanjin Army 4-13 9. Jiang Xi 4-13 10. Hebei S. 0-17"

Also seeking, and apparently finding, any path to the NBA, Eloy Vargas has landed on the New York Knicks Summer League roster.  This I find very interesting because he wasn’t a great player at Kentucky and he didn’t make the Dominican Republic National Team coached by his own coach so I’m not sure what New York sees in bringing him in but I sincerely hope it works out.

"Former Kentucky backup center Eloy Vargas has been signed by the New York Knicks for the NBA Summer League. Vargas had been playing in the Santo Domingo League in the Dominican Republic where he averaged 19.4 points and 13.4 rebounds with San Lazaro. He was also Rookie of the Year and first team all tournament in the Districto Nacional League. After working out for New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Lakers, Eloy received an offer from the Knicks and he accepted. Eloy’s agent, Glenn Schwartzman of Alliance Sports Management, is looking forward to the 6’11″ center’s run with the Knicks in Vegas. “Eloy is looking to showcase his stuff for the Knicks, but also for the other 29 teams in the NBA and everyone else internationally. Not only is he healthy, but he is back playing at a high level and it will be a good opportunity for him.” Schwartzman also thinks Eloy’s rebounding and energy could increase his chances of making a NBA roster. “You look at a guy like Chris Anderson that was an energy guy for the Heat, blocking shots and running the floor and doing some good things. If Eloy can bring a special skill like that he could be used situationally as a role player.” The New York Knicks open the Las Vegas Summer League on July 12 vs. the New Orleans Pelicans at 1pm in the Cox Pavilion."

The New Orleans Pelicans released their Summer League roster and Anthony Davis is not on it, though Darius Miller is.  The team doesn’t give a reason for anyone’s presence or absence but Davis has nothing to prove and Darius has everything to prove so it ends being a win-win.
