Former Wildcats in the NBA: 3/23 Edition

Yesterday was big day in the NBA with 11 games being played with 5 of the games having at least one former Wildcat on the roster.  There was a total of  8 former Wildcats that seen action yesterday.  Here is a quick recap of last nights former Kentucky Wildcats action around the league.

Oklahoma City Thunder 97 – Orlando Magic 89

Last nights match up between the Thunder and Magic turned out to be a better game than most people expected.  The Magic stayed with in striking distance to the Thunder throughout the game until 2:26 to go in the game.  The Thunder then locked down the Magic and held them with out a field goal in the closing minutes to win by 8.

Thunder: DeAndre Liggins 4 Mins, 0-1 FG

Miami Heat 103 – Detroit Pistons 89

Detroit lead for a majority of the game but the Heat, take over in the 4th quarter to win their 25th in a row.

Detriot: Brandon Knight DNP Left Ankle Injury

New Orleans Hornets 90 – Memphis Grizzlies 83 

Robin Lopez and Anthony Davis had great nights to help pull out a win over the Grizzlies.  Memphis lead for most of the first half but Lopez scored 8 straight in the third and helped the Hornets pull away.  Memphis then in the fourth quarter made a huge push but Robin Lopez had a huge put back and a pair free throws in the final 1:11 to seal the victory for the Hornets.

Hornets: Anthony Davis 37 Mins, 8-14 FG, 2-3 FT, 5 offensive boards, 10 defensive boards, 15 total rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 18 points.

Darius Miller 14 Mins, 1-2 FG, 2 Rebs, 3 AST, 2 STL and 7 points.

Grizzlies: Tayshaun Prince  34 Mins, 3-7 FG, 2 Rebs, 3 AST, 2 STL and 7 points.

 

San Antonio Spurs 104 –  Utah Jazz 97 OT

Parker pushes the Spurs over the Jazz in over time.  Spurs escape with a victory to give Gregg Poppovich his 900th career victory.

Jazz: Enes Katner 11 Mins, 0-4 FG, 3-4 FT, 3 Rebs and 3 points

Washington Wizards 103  – Los Angeles Lakers 100

The Lakers was up by 16 at half time but the Wizards out scored the Lakers 31-17 in the 3rd to pull with in two.  John Wall and Trevor Azriza  where huge in this rally that continued into the 4th quarter as the Wizards would close with a 11-2 run which included 4 clutch free throws in the final seconds by John Wall.  Kobe Bryant had a chance to tie at the buzzer but missed.  John Wall had a huge night dishing the ball and had six assists in the 4th quarter alone.  John Wall had a great all around game that helped his team to a victory over the Lakers.  Jodie Meeks also, had a very solid night for the Lakers as he shot 62.5% from the field and 60% from behind the three-point line.

Wizards: John Wall  44 Mins,  9-19 FG,  6-8 FT, 6 REB, 16 AST,  3 STL,  1 TO,  24 points.

Lakers: Jodie Meeks  24 Mins,  5-8 FG,   3-5 3 pointers, 3-3 FT and  16 points.
