John Calipari Is The Hardest Working Coach In The Game

facebooktwitterreddit

Being A Kentucky Wildcat fan we get to see how hard John Calipari coaches on the sidelines. This year we may be seeing it more than ever, because of the youth we have on this years team. We see him every game hardly ever sit down and take a break during the game, but I guess he really can’t afford to because right now he is the voice this teams needs. Ryanhe  Harrow looked on Saturday to start taking the role of the leader of this team, and I am sure John Calipari would be more than thrilled to be able to sit down a couple minutes a game. The real question is…. Does John Calipari ever sleep??? DeWayne Peevy sent out a tweet earlier this week and it said ” Unreal!! @UKCoachCalipari on the road again today. #Teamnosleep #WeAreUK”.

The reason he sent that tweet out is because John Calipari has hit the recruting trail hard these past two weeks. It seems like he never gets a day off, and I honestly think that he enjoys always being on the road. After the game vs Samford on Tuesday he told Tom Leach on the post game show that he would be in two cities tomorrow recruting. Nobody knew who which two cities those would be, but later on in the week it become clear that he went to visit Tyus Jones(The #1 player in 2014) and Trey Lyles(The #4 player in 2014). Tyus Jones is from Minnesota and Lyles is from Indiana. Keep in mind he had practice the same day in Lexington. That is the value of having a private jet donated from RJ corman. Rumors began to spread on Friday that Lyles was very close to committing to Kentucky, but has since then went quiet.

If you thought he was done for the week you were wrong. Dakari Johnson sent out a tweet yesterday saying that he had a nice talk with Coach Cal, Coach O, and Kenny Payne. Dakari Johnson is from Lexington, KY and is now becoming a very important part of Kentucky’s 2013 class. If you don’t think Cal wants this kid really bad well according to Adam Zagoria Calipari will be visiting Johnson again tomorrow. Kentucky in many experts eyes are the favorites to land the 6-10 true center.

I hear some people say John Calipari can’t coach as good as some others, and that’s fine I respect opinions of others, but is there a coach that works harder? I can’t name one coach who is always looking forward to better the program he is coaching at. All of his hardwork is paying off as he had brought in the number 1 recruiting class for 4 years in a row, and it’s almost certain that next year Kentucky will have another number one class. 2013 may be the best class in John Calipari’s career.

I always heard John Calipari seems like he never slept, and now I am really starting to see that he is part of #Teamnosleep.

A quick recruiting tidbit- Andrew and Aaron Harrison will play another UK recruit Aaron Gordon on ESPN at 8. Andrew Harrison has a minor leg injury and may not play, but you will still be able to see Aaron play. Andrew Wiggins will also be playing on ESPN, but the times were still TBA at this time.
