#5- Rhyne Howard

In the state of Kentucky, basketball is king…make that, Queen!

This basketball-crazy state has an unquestioned queen; her name is Rhyne Howard.

Howard exploded onto the hoops scene as a true Freshman during the 2018-2019 season. All she did was win. She earned SEC Conference Freshman of the week eight times, won SEC Freshman of the Year, made all-SEC First Team, and won multiple national Freshman of the Year awards.

Howard’s historic season had her averaging nearly 24 points per game and over 6 rebounds per game while shooting over 45% from the field, 41% from three, and nearly 79% from the free-throw line. She led the University of Kentucky Women’s Basketball team to a 25-8 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance while continuing to lead the program to historic heights in the 2019-2020 season.

Who do you believe should be recognized for their 2019 year as a University of Kentucky athlete?
