Kentucky Basketball incoming freshmen Hamidou Diallo, Kevin Knox as well as PJ Washington impress after first day of USA U19 training camp.

John Calipari seemed pleased with the performances of his Kentucky Basketball players after the first day of USA U19 training camp. Thanks to Kyle Tucker at SEC Country, we have an inside look at the team practices in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The USA U19 training camp consists of a handful of 2018 recruits as well as recent signees and collegiate players. Three Kentucky Basketball signees are vying for the opportunity to represent their country in the FIBA U19 World Cup. Kevin Knox and Hamidou Diallo are making waves after the first night.

After following along on Twitter thanks to Kyle Tucker, Kentucky Basketball fans get a glimpse of what is coming to Lexington.

Obviously, after seeing Diallo’s NBA Combine numbers, plays like this will be abundant in the near future. Diallo is an incredible athlete with tremendous upside as a slasher who can get to the rim. That bodes well for this Kentucky Basketball team.

Kevin Knox is silky smooth with his jumper off the dribble. At 6-foot-8, Knox can create his own shots off the dribble. He can pull up from anywhere. That spells danger for college basketball if this is a common theme.

Here’s Hamidou Diallo climbing the ladder for a lob. Look for this kind of thing to be commonplace among this season’s Kentucky Basketball team. In addition to Diallo, Knox can play on the wing. One of the two will have a big game each night. Not many teams have defenders that can guard both of these two athletes.

Kentucky Basketball is in good hands

As you can see, there will be talent in Lexington this season. Coach Calipari has a great advantage with getting to coach three of his future players at this stage and on this level. Kevin Knox, Hamidou Diallo, and also PJ Washington look to make the 12-man squad and try and lead this U19 team to the FIBA World Cup gold.
