Center Jon Toth thought he would hear his name called in the third round of this recent NFL Draft. Unfortunately his name, or any other Kentucky Football player’s name was called.

The reason that Toth was not drafted seems to be related to an injury. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle tweeted Wednesday afternoon that Jon Toth has had back surgery. I must have been under a rock or something because no news had spread of an injury. The Kentucky Football standout was dismissed from all 32 teams in the NFL Draft. Something that unlikely, had to have good reasoning behind it.

Jon Toth is a pro

Jon Toth ranked as a top five center in the NFL Draft. The Indiana native was a staple in the Kentucky offense. In addition to his leadership, he anchored an offensive line that helped two backs surpass the 1,000 yard mark in 2016. Jon Toth is an individual with high upside that can make an impact as a Center in the NFL. Teams who are looking to improve their run game need a strong core offensive lineman. Jon Toth should be at the top of the boards in the General Manager’s offices.

While at Kentucky, Toth received high accolades as a top offensive lineman in the SEC. Additionally, Toth concluded his career as an All-SEC first team selection at Center.

NFL teams have shown interest in Toth. The Los Angeles Rams seem to be the biggest players in the Toth sweepstakes. Free agency signings for Kentucky Wildcats have been big news. Although, Jon Toth was the top NFL prospect for the Kentucky Wildcats, the All-SEC center has yet to sign with a team. Also, after this successful surgery, it is safe to say that Jon Toth will not be on the board for very much longer.

His draft profile on NFL.com sites his strengths as a running based center with great strength and arm length.
