Jon Toth, the only Kentucky Football player projected to get drafted, has yet to sign with a team.

This comes as a shock as fellow Kentucky football teammates Boom Williams and JD Harmon have both signed on with the Bengals and Browns, respectively.

Kentucky football’s own Jon Toth has had a rough week. The center from Indianappolis was projected anywhere from the third to the seventh round, yet he never heard his name called. Toth was a 2nd-team All-SEC player his senior year, and started 47 consecutive games over four seasons.

A deal was in the works with the San Francisco 49ers. But, that deal seems to be off the table according to Ian Rappaport.

Toth will most likely find a home and sign as an undrafted free agent. He displays consistency and great protection, which will earn him a spot on a roster. Also, his is draft profile on NFL.com says that his size and knowledge of the game will fit in great with a power-rush styled offense. This should be old news for Kentucky fans, seeing as he helped block for two 1,000 yard rushers last year.

NFL Fit?

Teams that love to run the ball should take a look at Toth. Getting a third round talent as a free agent, paying him free agent money would be the ultimate steal. Teams that come to mind when comparing Jon Toth’s abilities to the teams scheme are the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, San Fransisco 49ers , and Oakland Raiders. All would be a good fit for Toth. The Indiana native definitely deserves his shot at an NFL Career as he was one of the top lineman in the SEC throughout his senior campaign.

If all else fails and Toth doesn’t sign with a team this offseason, he has his mechanical engineering degree. I think that he will land on his feet where ever life takes him.
