Kentucky Basketball is out of season, and that’s okay. These videos should make you feel better while waiting for the next jump ball.

If you are like me, then you’re watching John Wall in the NBA Playoffs and you’re entertained. But more than likely, you are the average Kentucky Basketball fan, checking your calendar for the days until the Big Blue Madness. That’s the harsh reality as spring settles in.

Need a distraction? Let’s watch some videos as we wait for Kentucky Basketball to return.

Patrick Sparks sends Kentucky Basketball to OT in Elite Eight

This one is a classic from my childhood. I was 13 when Patrick Sparks pulled up, then Kelenna Azubuike pulled up, then Sparks rebounded the ball, then drained this shot. It was a crazy shot is what I’m saying.

Just look at that YouTube thumbnail. Michigan State is in shock. Of course, the Spartans won in double overtime, but let’s choose to forget that detail for now.

Kentucky Basketball Dancing Guy squares off with a dancing challenger

I love Kentucky Dancing Guy. He brings me a lot of joy. One of the most surreal moments in all my years of Kentucky basketball fandom came when The Dancing Guy decided to pick up that girl and drop her during his dance. No one in Rupp Arena could pay attention to the guy for 10 solid minutes. It was hopeless.

So I choose to remember better Dancing Guy moments like this video below. Some of my favorite editions of UK Dancing Guy came when someone stepped up to the plate to challenge him, like so:

This old man must have decided he would do this dance prior to the game, despite the look of bewilderment on his buddy’s face to his right. No worries – when called on, the buddy stands up and they knock this out of the park.

When you think about it, the UK Dancing Guy is like the old wrestler who has name cachet and allows the other wrestlers to win. They stick around to put the changing of the guard in motion.

In less nerdy terms, he’s like the one person willing to start dancing at a party first, while everyone else follows suit. Every party needs that person, just like Rupp Arena needs UK Dancing Guy.

Terrence Jones raps on “Teach Me Bout Kentucky”

I mean, shout out to these guys just for rapping like this publicly. Terrence Jones hops on the mic at 1:16. I’ll let you make your own judgement from there.
