It looks like not everyone is going to have the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team as their unanimous number one team in the country. It seems like the Sporting News is going with a top two teams of all Wildcats and no, we are not talking about UK’s first team and second team. The Sporting News tweeted out the cover of their basketball yearbook and they have the Arizona Wildcats as the #1 team in the land and UK at #2. (H/T Ben Roberts)

John Calipari relaxed in the stands yesterday and watched Kenny Payne coach his team to a 81-58 win over Champagne Chalons-Reims.  Kentucky, once again, was impressive in the win and I think that my biggest takeaway thus far has been the passing and unselfishness of this team.  John Clay also has three thoughts on the Kentucky win yesterday.

"2. Speaking of passing, for a team that has only been together for 10 practices, with several new pieces, the Cats passed the ball extremely well. Covering the PGA in Valhalla, I didn’t get to see Sunday’s game – not yet, anyway – but read the same kudos about the team passing effort in that game. Everyone appears to do a good job moving the basketball. No ball-stopping, as Calipari calls it, and as plagued last year’s team, at least until the NCAA Tournament."

Calipari even tweeted out that this team was “farther along than any team I’ve had in a while”.  This team is going to be scary good, folks.  In case you missed it, here are the highlights from yesterday.

‘Another big takeaway from the exhibition games so far has been how ready Karl Towns Jr seems for the college game.  And of course, Twitter has been blowing up about Towns being the possible number one draft pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

"UK freshman Karl-Anthony Towns got the chatter started with his impressive performance in Monday’s exhibition victory over a French team in the Bahamas. ESPN draft analyst Chad Ford and college basketball reporter Jeff Goodman both tweeted that Towns could be a possible No. 1 overall pick next year. (Towns hasn’t started in either of UK’s games in the Bahamas). Ford had Towns going with the No. 4 pick in his first 2015 mock draft, which was released last week. DraftExpress.com also has Towns at No. 4."
