After decommitting from the Kentucky Wildcats three months ago, Marcus Walker has made up his mind for good. He has recommitted to Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats, greatly bolstering a secondary that needed some depth and talent to further fill out the unit. As a 3* prospect, Walker originally committed in January, but backed out to explore his options when his recruitment began to pick up.
This marks the importance of talent scouting and getting to prospects early, as Mark Stoops and staff were able to beat out the likes of Florida and Arkansas amongst a host of others for the coveted safety. With Marcus Walker recommitting to the Wildcats, the 2015 recruiting class moves up to the 19th best recruiting class according to Rivals. This would be another great accomplishment for a staff that took over a struggling program.
As for what Marcus Walker brings to the table, look no further than his 6’0.5″ 176lbs frame. While it is a bit small right now, it will give him room to grow and bulk up once arriving to Lexington. Combine this with his 4.52 40-yard dash, and he will be a welcome sight to a secondary that still needs depth at every position. As far as his ranking, Marcus Walker is listed as the 16th best in the nation at his position and marks another win in the talent rich state of Florida.
