Kentucky Wildcats 2014 Football Preview: Meet Ramsey Meyers

69 – Ramsey Meyers
Freshman Guard
6’4″ 305
Orange Park, Florida

Ramsey Meyers was a redshirt last season, but coaches said he had become ready to play as the season progressed but the work of Kevin Mitchell destined him for a redshirt season. Now that Mitchell has graduated he will try to win the open position at right guard. He is just a tough, physical run blocker who has made good progress with his pass protection.

In High School:

He was a first-team all-state senior season in Florida Class 6A. He was the nation’s No. 60 guard prospect by 247Sports and ranked No. 61 by Meyers played for the Ridgeview Panthers in Orange Park, Fla. and helped Ridgeview to a 9-2 mark and a spot in the state playoffs his senior year. His senior honors also included All-First Coast, All-County and the Florida Times-Union “Super 24″. He played in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star Classic following senior campaign … Honorable-mention all-state as a junior … He was the top sleeper at the Nike Elite Camp last spring and a first-team all-combine performer at the US Army combine in 2012.

What To Expect:

Even though Ramsey Meyers will be a great player for the years to come, I don’t see him making too great of an impact this year. I could be wrong however. As far as stats go, there aren’t many that an offensive lineman can put up except for pancakes and Meyers may only get 1 or 2 this year. Look for Ramsey to be a starter next season and have a breakout year.
