Kentucky Football Camps Could Bring More Commitments

As the summer rolls on, so does the UK Football camp schedule. The upcoming camp could be a big one, too. Previously there have been camps for middle schoolers and 8th graders, but the next camp on July 18th is for rising juniors and seniors- the prime targets for recruiting. There are only 3 camps remaining, but these could potentially have the most recruiting targets for Kentucky.

Here’s a look at the camp schedule:

July 18th: Friday Night Blue Lights Camp

Rising Juniors and Seniors

“This camp is designed to enhance player’s skills as they prepare for their senior seasons in high school. The Kentucky coaches provide instruction for all offensive and defensive positions. The coaches will teach the same fundamentals that they teach the UK players and the finer points of each position. Discussions on what to expect during the recruiting process and a tour of the UK facilities will take place. Registration is from 3:00-4:30 PM in the Nutter Training Center. Cleats only, no helmets.”

July 19th: High School 7 on 7 passing camp

High school teams

“This camp provides high school teams the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming fall season, enhance teamwork, and improve their passing game. The University of Kentucky coaching staff will be on site to interact and provide instruction for the teams. REQUIRES ALL PLAYERS TO HAVE A HELMET, MOUTHPIECE, AND CLEATS. All teams must supply a roster at registration. Registration is from 7:00-8:00 am in the Nutter Training Center.”

July 19th: Offensive/Defensive Lineman Camp

9th-12th graders

“The Kentucky line coaches will teach the fundamentals of line play on both sides of the ball. Run and pass blocking, sled work and one-on-one drill will be taught on offense. Defeating blocks, pass rush, and hand-to-hand techniques will be emphasized on defense. Campers may split position instruction time at camp. Cleats only, no helmets. Registration is from 7:00-8:00 am in the Nutter Training Center.”

With a slew of UK targets coming in for visits and camps its possible to have a couple more “Yahtzee’s” before summer’s end- especially after yesterday’s momentum of a double-commitment.
