2014 NBA Draft is One Day Away

Kentucky Wildcats fans are anxious to see where Julius Randle and James Young will be picked in Thursday night’s 2014 NBA Draft.

While I’m personally interested to see what kind of reaction NBA Commissioner Adam Silver gets a few weeks after he banned Donald Sterling from the NBA.

Gary Parrish of CBS Sports predicts Randle to be drafted by the Boston Celtics but that idea seems to now be thrown out the window after Randle passed on a second workout for an interview opportunity with GQ. There’s a few things that can be read into this as ESPN’s Chad Ford tweets. Does Randle have a promise by another team that they will draft him if he is available? Or is it likely that he was never going to end up in Boston to begin with?

CBS Sports NBA writer Matt Moore’s mock draft was updated today. Moore previously had Randle to the Lakers with the 7th selection but has moved up up to the Orlando Magic with their fourth pick.

Many mock drafts seem to have James Young heading to the Phoenix Suns. Why not? They already have Eric Bledsoe and Archie Goodwin.

There’s no certainty with all these mock drafts outside of, maybe, the first three picks but don’t forget that nobody thought the Cleveland Cavaliers would select Anthony Bennett as the first overall pick.
