Jeff Badet came to Kentucky as a part of Mark Stoops’ first recruiting class, one that was meant to boost Kentucky’s productivity on the field. While in high school, Badet’s track skills were also on display on the football field. He logged 63 receptions for 881 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with six rushing touchdowns in 2012. Badet helped lead Freedom HS to a 7-4 reord and a state playoff berth during his senior season. Badet was rated as a 3-star WR and had originally committed to South Florida before becoming a Wildcat.

Badet played in nine of UK’s 12 games last season. He had limited playing time but certainly made an impact when he was in the game. His two biggest games were against Western Kentucky and Tennessee; he finished with three receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown against WKU and six receptions for 47 yards against Tennessee. With plenty of playing time as a freshman, his experience could be valuable this upcoming season.

Just as the rest of the wide receivers must do, Badet must compete and prove himself in practice if he is looking to be a starting wide receiver and contribute consistently. Just like a few other players also, Badet missed the Blue-White game in April due to an ankle injury.
