All in all, it’s been a pretty amazing freshman year for Dominique Hawkins. Hawkins, who chose to stay in state to play for Kentucky was not figured to play much, if at all, this season. He gradually worked his way into John Calipari’s rotation and even saw some Final Four. You have to figure that was living the dream for a home state boy.
Hawkins played in 33 games for UK this season and averaged 8.6 minutes a game and averaged .9 points and .7 rebounds a game. John Calipari liked to use him as an energy guy to try to inspire listless play or to send a message by putting players on the bench. Hawkin’s offensive game was a liability as he shot just 29% from the floor and 38.5% from the line.
Dominique Hawkins just got back from an exhibition tour of China and he has had a chance to work on his offensive game. He will talk to the press about it at 1:00PM. You can watch the press conference live below.
