ICYMI: Can Dominique Hawkins be the Kentucky Wildcats next Darius Miller?

Looking at the roster for next season, I am more than amazed at the depth and plethora of talent I am looking at. There are names on that list that other schools could only wish to have on their roster, in fact, there are a lot of names like that. But one has to wonder, is Dominique Hawkins one of those names?

I think so.

Dominique Hawkins saw a lot of playing time for the Wildcats last season. Looking at his stat sheet for the season, it looks like he wasn’t much of a factor. Hawkins only scored 25 points last season. Only 25. That surprised me at first, but once I started to think about it, Hawkins ran the ball and the team more than he drove to the basket. Hawkins has the knowledge of a collegiate point guard and he knows his role on the Wildcats team. That underlying knowledge is what made him the factor he was for the Wildcats, he was able to, usually, keep his team calm and create plays for them to score.

Right now, Hawkins is in China with Sports Reach USA. While over there, Hawkins is given the opportunity to improve on his game and grow as a player and individual. This can only help the Wildcats in the future. He has NCAA Tournament experience and then decided to travel overseas to play in the summer, he has no off-season. Hawkins will be game day ready from the word go.

With the immense amount of talent on the Wildcats roster, Hawkins will have to put up his best in every practice in order to see some time on the court, but that is something I think he will be able to. Hawkins is going to be a secret weapon for the Wildcats over the next few seasons, but I believe he will have a strong impact on this upcoming season.

I still believe he may be the next Darius Miller.
