Q & A With Kentucky Recruit Mason Wolfe

Kentucky Recruit Mason Wolfe

Mason Wolfe is a Kentucky native from Henderson county who just committed to UK and I had the privilege in interviewing him. Mason is rated by Rivals.com as a 5.5 3-star offensive linemen and one of the top prospects in Kentucky for the 2015 class. Standing at 6′ 6″ and weighting 270 lbs., Wolfe’s only offer to date is from Kentucky but I would expect that to change as the year goes on.

WBN: Hey Mason, how are you?

Mason: I’m doing good. How are you?

WBN: I’m great. So, let’s dive right into it. When we talked last week you had not committed. What changed and why the sudden commitment?

Mason: I had grown up a Kentucky fan and I felt that I had a great relationship with the coaches and decided it was time. I knew for a while now that Kentucky was the place for me anyway.

WBN: Will you still visit other schools and make it to some camps this year?

Mason: Visiting other schools, no. But I will make it to a Rivals camp, along with a Nike camp.

WBN: Ok, sounds good. We all know you have committed to Kentucky but do you have any new offers or interests?

Mason: NC State, Yale, Indiana and Alabama are the latest with mail.

WBN: Last week you had told me what you were looking for in a program, you had said, ” I’m looking for a place where I feel at home and also a place where I can get a good degree. As of right now, I don’t have a major picked out”. Do you feel like you found that at UK?

Mason: Very much so.

WBN: Was your family and friends surprised by your early commitment?

Mason: No, I talked it over with my parents and nobody acted surprised.

WBN: What are your thoughts about UK’s program?

Mason: I think that it’s a great program that is only going to get better from here.

WBN: Are you looking forward to your senior year playing football?

Mason: Very much so.

WBN: What are your expectations for yourself and your teammates this upcoming season?

Mason: For myself, I just want to get better and for my teammates, I want them to do the same.

WBN: And lastly, I had asked you last week if you were going to UK’s spring game, you said, “I actually will not be able to attend because of a Rivals camp I’m going to”. Has that changed since you committed?

Mason: I’m going to try to make it to the game a little late after the camp is over.

WBN: Mason, thanks a lot for your time. We here at Wildcat Blue Nation will enjoy watching your progress this fall and congratulations on your commitment. I’m sure you made the coaching staff and a lot of fans very happy. Again, thanks and good luck!

Mason: Thank you very much for spending your time with me and thank you again. Go Cats!!
