2014 NCAA Tournament: Same Dome, Different Dynamic

The Kentucky Wildcats will arrive AT & T Stadium, the final destination in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, later this week. A cold-blooded three in the final seconds by Aaron Harrison punched Kentucky’s ticket to Jerry Jones’ palace in Arlington.

This isn’t Kentucky’s first trek to North Texas. They were there way back on Dec. 6, 2013 and fell to Baylor 67-62. Everything about that time period was strange. Matthew Mitchell and the UK Hoop Cats preceded the men and defeated Baylor in an epic never-ending game.

The scene outside the stadium was weird to as the Dallas area was slammed by a huge ice storm. Attendance was sparse as a large portion of Big Blue Nation was unable to get there to support the Cats as they customarily would.

Dallas is no stranger to freaky weather when a big sporting event is scheduled to come to town. Remember Super Bowl XLV.

Here’s the good news, the weather shows no signs of craziness this weekend.

Better news, the Cats will be back in Big D, and Big Blue Nation will be along for the entire ride.
