In almost every article posted during tournament season, it’s all about stats. Who is winning, who is losing is the main topic. Each player’s stats are also a big thing to talk about. Who is the best, which player is leading, how many points and rebounds they have- everything about them. Personally, I’m as guilty of making this the focus as any other journalist out there. In sports, it’s also important to take about not just the stats, but also what they’re doing it for. The Louisville player who made a point to congratulate the Wildcats on their win Friday night, and also the Kentucky Wildcats themselves who wanted to “win it for Willie.” Shows the true character of these men who are typically only recognized for their athletic talent.
