The UK women’s basketball team has now won six of their last eight heading into the SEC tournament. Kentucky is now 22-7 overall and 10-6 in conference play.
Since today was senior night, UK’s lineup was all seniors- Kastine Evans, Bernisha Pinkett, DeNesha Stallworth, Samarie Walker and sophomore Janee Thompson. Kentucky led by three going into the locker room at halftime- they are 18-2 when leading at the half this season. Kentucky hung on in the second half to win 65-63 in a last second thriller to end their regular season in Memorial Coliseum.

UK has now forced double-digit turnovers in ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY ONE CONSECUTIVE GAMES. They also attacked the boards, outrebounding Vanderbilt and 17 other opponents this season. Stallworth led the Cats with 18 points, scoring in double figures 15 times this season and 6 of the last 7. Walker tied a career-high four assists and Kastine Evans has made at least one three-pointer in 25 of 28 games now. This senior class ties the school record class for winningest class in school history with a 105-29 record, matching that of the 2013 senior class.
UK Hoops will be traveling to Duluth, Geogria for the SEC tournament. They are seeded #4 with a double-bye. Their first game is Friday at 2:30 against the winner of Florida and Missouri/Miss. St.
