University of Kentucky women’s basketball signees Alexis Jennings and Alyssa Rice were honored today by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Jennings, a senior from Madison, Alabama, was one of 10 players named to the WBCA high school All-America team. Jennings is a 6’2″ post player and is rated by ESPN as a four-star recruit. She is also ranked by ESPN as the 9th best player at her position and as the No. 64 overall player in the Class of 2014. Jennings picked Kentucky over Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Florida State.
Rice, a senior from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, was one of 20 players to receive a WBCA All-America honorable mention. Rice is a 6’3″ post player and is rated by ESPN as a five-star recruit. She is also ranked by ESPN as the 3rd best player at her position and as the No. 20 overall player in the Class of 2014. Rice is also a McDonald’s All-American and will represent Kentucky in the McDonald’s All-American Game in April. She chose Kentucky over Maryland, Ohio State, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Kentucky’s 2014 recruiting class also consists of three-star prospect Jaycee Coe and 6’6″ center Ivana Jakubcova. ESPN has this Kentucky recruiting class as No. 17 in the nation.
