The Kentucky Wildcats football program has just completed one of the greatest recruiting classes it’s ever had in 2014. Mark Stoops and his staff are already off to a hot start in the 2015 class with commitments from the like of 4-star cornerback Montrel Curtis and 4-star safety Marcus Walker.
Unfortunately, one recruit UK won’t likely be getting is Caldwell County (Princeton, Ky.) quarterback Elijah Sindelar, who committed to the Purdue Boilermakers earlier today.
Sidelar is the No. 20 QB prospect on Rivals.com. He completed 196-of-303 passes for 3,374 yards and 44 touchdowns with eight interceptions last season and rushed 61 times for 424 yards and seven touchdowns
Caldwell County coach David Barnes said Sindelar, who is a 4.0 student, chose Purdue in large part due to that school’s engineering program.
Sindelar received a scholarship offer from the Boilermakers last month after visiting UK and Purdue on consecutive days.
“That was the best fit for him educationally,” Barnes said.
Sindelar also had offers from Ole Miss, Western Kentucky, Murray State and Bowling Green while also drawing interest form the Alabama Crimson Tide.
