Coming into the season everybody knew this Missouri game would be a tough out for Kentucky because it was on the road, and Missouri has a solid squad. What we didn’t know is that this game has turned into a must win for Kentucky. After laying an egg Tuesday night on the road at LSU, Kentucky needs this road win more than one can think. Not just for confidence that they can beat a good team on the road, but this is getting to be danger time if we drop many more in SEC play.
Missouri has two of the league top 5 scorers on the perimeter, and Jabari Brown is one of the most underrated players in the country averaging over 20 points a game. Missouri is just coming off a huge win on the road against Arkansas, and if they can beat Kentucky in the same week they are looking the NCAA tournament right in the face.
I will admit I am panicked, and don’t know whats wrong with this Kentucky team, but I am worried and so is the Big Blue Nation. Now, lets not play stupid here if Kentucky goes on the road and wins tomorrow everything will be fine, and Kentucky is in good shape, but if they don’t I am worried the wheels may come off the track with this team.
John Calipari looks frustrated with me, and that’s what I don’t like to see, because that was the look I saw last season, and nobody wants him or the fans to go through that again. I wish he would tweak the starting lineup with one player only, and thats putting Dakari Johnson in place of Willie Cauley-Stein. You can’t bench the Harrison Twins because thats when everything will go bad. Its February, and too late to make many changes in the starting lineup, and Calipari knows that.
If Kentucky comes out and goes down 22-4 tomorrow they may not get a chance to come back, because Missouri’s fans can be very loud, and I am sure their will be shirt given out at tomorrows game. As far as a prediction I really don’t have one, all I know is that we better come play or this game could get out of hand very quickly.
