UK Wildcats Basketball: Good, Bad, & Ugly vs LSU

Crystal LoGiudice-USA TODAY Sports

Writing this on a Wednesday night because I’ll be traveling back to Ohio on Thursday when this will be posted. And because I’m still too angry about Tuesday’s night debacle in Baton Rouge, this is essentially all I can muster. Like the Wildcats, I’m mailing this one in.

The Good:

There wasn’t much. But I made a New Year’s Resolution to be more positive in 2014. Dakari Johnson scored 15 points in 20 minutes. Better yet, he was efficient from the field, shooting 7 for 8. And he had 6 rebounds. I really, really, really hope Dakari doesn’t do something crazy like declare for the draft at the end of the season because I truly believe with another year at UK he could become one of the best big men in the country.

The Bad:

Julius Randle. Okay, yeah, I get it. He’s double and triple teamed every time he touches the ball in the paint. He takes a lot of contact and doesn’t get nearly the number of calls he should. That said, he was 3 for 11, scoring 6 points. He missed is only free throw. He collected just 5 rebounds. A terrible performance from Randle.

The Ugly:

The ugliest 15 seconds since a summer night, after hours, in Porcini’s.
