It is staggering the domination that Kentucky basketball has compiled over the years. Mindboggling in that Georgia has only beaten Kentucky 26 times. EVER.

So it goes to say that a Kentucky loss to Georgia usually occurs when Kentucky is really struggling or down on their luck. Kentucky lost last year at Georgia. And in 2011 in the midst of their identity crisis where they could not win on the road. And Billy Clyde lost to them in back to back years. Abd Tubby’s 12 loss 8th seed team in 2007.

So no disrespect to the Bulldogs, but a loss to Georgia is never good for Kentucky. Only the 2011 Cats saw any big success from their season.

And the same holds true this year. While holding a 4-1 SEC record, Georgia is 10-7 overall and their best win is over #56 Missouri and they have a loss on the books to #179 Temple. The Bulldogs are 4-7 against teams in Jerry Palm’s top 200, so this is a team Kentucky should handle rather easily.

That is why they play the games however. Let’s meet the Bulldogs.
