The Kentucky Wildcats continue to recruit Montaque “Teki” Gill-Caesar, a 6’5″ guard/forward from Huntington Prep (W.Va.). This, despite the fact he’s ranked No. 21 in the class of 2015, according to the 247Sports, but UK is interested in him as a 2014 prospect.

He’s been contemplating a reclassification to the ’14 class, and in an interview with CBS Sports, he didn’t sound like he’s set on joining the ;14 class:

“I’m still thinking about it,” Gill-Caesar said at the Hoop Hall Classic. “It’s up in the air right now. I have no definite timetable or anything of when I’m going to be making a decision.

“It would just be a hype thing. In 2015, I would have more hype around me. Going in 2014, I would have to build up a reputation because they kind of have all their guys set up already, so I would have prove myself.”

At this point, UK is considered the favorite for Teki Gill-Caesar if he does join the ’14 class, but if he stays in the 2015 class, he’ll be stacked against other elite guards UK is recruiting, including Luke Kennard, Charles Matthews and Malik Newman(combo guard), all of whom UK is the favorite for or expected to be among the finalists for.

If Teki wants to come to UK, his best chance is a reclassification, but if he feels he needs another year of high school, there’s no faulting him for that decision.
