Julius Randle scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as  the Kentucky Wildcats held off the upset minded Belmont Bruins 93-80 at Rupp Arena. Belmont (8-5) was going for the distinction of being the first team to ever win at UNC’s Dean Dome and Rupp Arena in the same season. And for a while, Belmont was in good shape. A J.J Mann layup gave the Bruins a 25-14 lead in the first half over the Wildcats, but Kentucky fought back and closed the gap to 43-41 at half.

An Aaron Harrison layup at the 16:22 mark gave Kentucky the lead for good, but the Wildcats had trouble pulling away from the pesky Bruins.  The BRuins had 7 first half three pointers and finished at 11-31 from long range.  Aaron Harrison scored 23 points and Willie Cauley Stein added 16 to lead the Wildcats (9-3).  Willie Cauley -Stein went 8-9 from the field and grabbed 7 rebounds while Harrison added 8 assists.

Kentucky won the rebound battle 42-25 and turned the ball over just 7 times.  Kentucky is off until they face Louisville at Rupp Arena next Saturday.  Belmont was led by Craig Bradshaw and Drew Windler with 22 and 21 points respectively.  The Bruins play at Indiana State next Saturday.
