As recently as a couple of weeks ago, this game figured to be a scary game for Kentucky Wildcats. Belmont had stunned the North Carolina Tar Heels and Kentucky was coming off a loss to Michigan State. The Kentucky worries have compounded with losses to Baylor and North Carolina, but life for the Bruins has been bumpy as well.

Seven games into the season, Belmont lost guard Reece Chamberlain to a foot injury that was expected to keep him out a couple of weeks. And the losses started to mount for Belmont. An 81-68 loss at home to VCU. A 81-72 loss to South Dakota State. And then on Tuesday, a 90-68 loss to Denver (5-5). And the big question now must be asked … how did this team beat UNC at the Dean Dome?

As of the writing of this, Chamberlain was still day-to-day and it was not know if he would play for Belmont. The curious thing is that Chamberlain has good, but not spectacular number, so there may be underlying reasons why the Bruns have lost three of their last four.

Regardless, this is a team that did something UK could not do … beat UNC. For that reason, they have to be considered very dangerous. Let’s meet the Bruins.
