Former Kentucky Wildcats great and current Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson will not suit-up this week against the Miami Dolphins. Johnson is with his family following the death of his mother, according to ESPN’s Mike Rodak.

Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone said earlier in the week that Johnson may need to miss the Bills’ game against the Dolphins on Sunday after he had returned to his family home near San Francisco this week after his mother, Rhonda, died unexpectedly last Saturday.

“I don’t believe that he will be available for our game on Sunday and I think it’s important we realize this tragedy, and our thoughts and our prayers are with Stevie and his family,” Marrone said, via the Buffalo News.

It’s been a tough year for the former Wildcat, as he’s battled through multiple inures and now a family tragedy. Johnson did play in the team’s 27-20 win last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars  after finding out about his mother’s death Saturday night.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Stevie and his family.
