Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball falls to Michigan State Spartans

The Kentucky Wildcats Volleyball team has experienced a historic level of success under the watch of head coach Craig Skinner, and today against the Michigan State Spartans, UK was seeking another berth in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. But it was not to be today, as the Spartans handled Kentucky en route to a 3-1 victory.

After UK dropped the first one, the women rallied to tie the sets at 1-1, but the Spartans would win the next two sets to oust the Cats from the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats made the Sweet 16 in 2011 and 2012. UK closes the season 22-9 with its ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament trip under Coach Skinner.

Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 13-14. The regional will get underway Dec. 13, with semifinal contests at 5 and 7 p.m. ET, while the regional final will commence Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Seattle, Wash., from the Lexington Region.

Congratulations to coach Skinner on another great season, and good luck to the seniors in their future endeavors.
