Kentucky Wildcats Football: Surprise Four Star Visitors on campus

I know most of us are still in a Big Blue Funk over last night’s loss to Baylor, but Rival’s Justin Rowlands has some news that should warm the hearts of UK Football fans.

Although Smith is called an athlete, he is the 11th ranked safety in the 2014 class and the 122nd player overall. He hails from Cleveland and is the sixth best player in the state of Ohio. Jones is also from Cleveland and is the 3240th best player in Ohio. The two are team mates at Glenville Academic Campus so there could be the possibility of a late package deal.

Jones would be a huge grab (literally) if Stoops can wrestle him from Urban Meyer. Jones is the 9th best OL in the country per Rivals and is huge. Rivals lists him at 6’4 and 354.

It does look like the pair, along with fellow Glenville team mate Marshon Lattimore (Ohio’s top player) will be taking in a few visits before the dead period starts.

With the season now over, the focus will immediately turn towards recruiting. Smith, Lattimore, and fellow four-star teammate Marcelys Jones are all set to visit Ohio State on December 13th but they will squeeze in another trip before that.

“Me, Marshon, and I think Marcelys are going to Georgia Tech on Wednesday (December 11th) for an official visit,” Smith explained. “We are returning to Cleveland on either Thursday night or Friday morning and then we will head to Ohio State from there.”

The reason for the visits in such close proximity is that the NCAA dead period will begin on Monday December 16th and Smith and Lattimore have planned on announcing in January at the Army All-American game. According to Smith that is still the plan.

“Me and Marshon are still going to announce our college decisions at the Army game,” Smith stated.

Since Friday night’s interview, we have also learned that Smith and Jones are making an official visit to Kentucky this weekend. -
