No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats 38, No. 20 Baylor Bears 35: First Half Recap

Just as the women’s game was, the men’s first half has been reminiscent of a boxing match, with the Cats and the Bears going blow-for-blow. Kentucky came from behind after a sluggish start and now holds a 38-35 lead after the first half. The Bears got off to a quick 16-7 lead, prompting Coach Calipari to call a timeout and regroup. On multiple drives, the Cats were able to force the ball in transition, drawing quick fouls against Baylor’s frontcourt or tough baskets. UK was also able to force seven turnovers. The Cats have shot 6-for-10 from behind the three-point line, and 46% from the field overall. Baylor has shot 51% from the field behind 10 points from G Kenny Chery. The Cats were lead by Aaron Harrison, who had 11 points and four assists. Julius Randle could be on his way to an eighth double-double for this season; he has eight points and five points.
