Gone are the days of the cupcake basketball schedule for John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats. National pundits always seem to find a way to poke a hole in Kentucky’s out of conference schedule, but December is shaping up to be the toughest December in the Calipari era.
Last night, Kentucky disposed of Providence 79-65. The Friars of the new Big East conference dropped to 7-2 on the year. Kentucky was just a six point favorite going into last night’s game and they could be the easiest game Kentucky may face this month. Kentucky was just a six point favorite and the Friars were getting some votes in the coaches poll before last nights game and had an RPI of 79 before the Kentucky game. That fell to 92 after last night.
