Kentucky should move up in College Basketball polls

With the UNC win over the Louisville Cardinals today, the Kentucky Wildcats should have no problem moving into the third spot of the Associated Press Top 25 Men’s College Basketball poll.

Over in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Men’s College Basketball poll, the Cats were ranked 5th while Louisville was in 2nd. It will be interesting to see where those two teams are when the polls come out on Monday.

All of that aside, it sure is looking like the best teams in college basketball all played in Chicago at the State Farm Champions Classic this season. For Big Blue Nation, the focus turns to Monday night as the Cats take on Cleveland State.

Calipari personally owns a 2-0 record against Cleveland State, with the only win in program history coming on November 24, 2009 with a 73-49 Kentucky win. This is the third of four games that make up the Keightley Classic at Rupp Arena.

Freshman Julius Randle is only the fourth Wildcat in program history and the first since Jim Andrews in 1971-72 to have opened the season with five-straight double-double games. He’s the first Kentucky player to have five-consecutive
games with double-figures in rebounds since Anthony Davis did so to finish the the 2012 season.
