The Kentucky Wildcats are preparing for a trip down to Athens this weekend to face the Georgia Bulldogs while searching for their first SEC win of the Mark Stoops era, as well as the program’s first SEC road win in four years.

They’ll have to do so without the services of several players who’ve been suspended for varying infractions, but will and the list of players not playing this weekend include  freshman defensive end Jason Hatcher, junior wide receiver DeMarco Robinson (indefinitely) and sophomore cornerback Cody Quinn. As of now, these are the only names UK will comment on.

This is some unfortunate news to come out on the eve of a game that looks daunting, but in reality is very winnable, but this is a message Stoops needed to send. And unlike his predecessor, Stoops has sent his message loud and clear while setting the tone for the future of UK football under his watch.

Make no mistake about it: He wants to win, but he’s not willing to sacrifice his moral value unlike some other schools are in order to take this program to new heights. He’ll do it his way or fail trying. That’s the kind of man Stoops is.
