Report: Kentucky Wildcats dismiss Raymond Sanders from team

The Kentucky Wildcats have already announced the suspensions of three players, including freshman defensive end Jason Hatcher, junior wide receiver DeMarco Robinson ( who is out indefinitely) and sophomore cornerback Cody Quinn.

It appears there are more players in trouble, and that includes senior starting running back Raymond Sanders, who’s been reportedly dismissed by the team for a violation of team rules.

It’s very unfortunate to see his career end this way, and now the offense must rely on true freshman JoJo Kemp to carry the load. The freshman back has found the end zone in three of the last four games and averages 5.2 yards per carry and has almost as many total yards as Sanders despite nearly 20 fewer carries:

Jalen Whitlow 104 464 4.5 88 (TD) 6
Raymond Sanders 106 464 4.4 49 3
Jojo Kemp 87 455 5.2 47 3

Sanders also chipped in 17 catches for 130 yards and was a better pass-blocker than Kemp. The Wildcats are already facing a very stiff test against the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, but the Bulldogs are not as strong as in years past on the defensive side of the ball, giving up more than 30 points per game.

They rely more on their offense, which UK probably needs to score somewhere in the high 20s-30s to pull of the upset, and not having Sanders hurts the offense.
