It has been a pretty uneven game so far down in Nashville, as the Commodores lead the Wildcats 9-6 after one quarter. Even though the Cats have outgained the Commodores in yards (UK 82, VU 44) and first downs (UK7, VU 2), it’s the mishaps on Kentucky that have allowed Vanderbilt to score and take the lead.

UK ran down the field on their first drive, with at least four carries from Sanders and Whitlow that were 10 yards or more. Jojo Kemp scored for UK, but on the extra point conversion, Vanderbilt was able to block it and return it for two points. UK has done a great job of containing Vanderbilt, as Bud Dupree already has two sacks on the day. Whitlow threw an interception towards the end of the quarter, putting Vanderbilt in perfect scoring position. Kentucky must continue to pressure Vandy on defense. If they can convert on offense, we could see an upset in Nashville.
