Though there were only 4 games last night, former Kentucky Wildcats Daniel Orton, Tayshaun Prince and Terrence Jones played in 3 of them with Keith Bogans being the lone roster spot that didn’t see the floor. Two of the three games were blowouts and no former Cat played well in any of the games, though one did come away with the “W” to even their record at 2-2.
Golden State Warriors-110
The 76ers suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the hot shooting Warriors. In fact, this was one of the blowouts but Daniel Orton is rewarding the trust of his team with some tepid, but solid, play when he’s on the floor. In 17 minutes, he missed both shots and was 1-3 from the FT line, finishing with 1 point, 6 rebounds and an assist in the losing effort.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, Celtics. It seems like a hundred years ago when Rondo hoisted the NBA Championship trophy but it’s only been 5. Be that as it may, Tayshaun Prince and the Grizzlies dropped the C’s to 0-4 in the closest game of the night involving former Wildcats. In his 20 minutes of action, TayTay had 4 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Now Prince has been in the league 10 years so I’m sure the laid back lefty has lost a step or two but he seems capable of more. Keith Bogans was a DNP Coach’s Decision for Boston.
Los Angeles Clippers-137
Terrence Jones is having a difficult time finding much time on the floor down in Houston, and after the off-season he’s had, he could use some. The addition of Dwight Howard hasn’t exactly made it easier for him to get chances but when he does, he needs to take advantage. He was only able to play 4 minutes last night in this disaster of a game but he did score 2 points.
