Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Wayman Tisdale Award Watch List


 

 

The United States Basketball Writers Association has released its preseason watch list for the Wayman Tisdale Award.  The award is given annually to the best freshman player in the country.

Kentucky has dominated this preseason’s watch list.  Four of the ten players on the list are Kentucky Wildcats.  Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, James Young, and Julius Randle are the Kentucky players that are listed.  With preseason All-American Andrew Wiggins and Wayne Selden, Kansas has two players on the list.

  • Andrew Wiggins, Kansas
  • James Young, Kentucky

There are a plethora of talented freshman players in college basketball for the 2013-2014 season.  With the start of the season drawing nearer, it will be interesting to see which freshmen reach their full potential and become finalists for the award.  Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart won the award last season.  This season, the award will be presented on April 14, 2014 in Oklahoma.
