After coming out of the halftime break up a close 11 points, the second half saw an influx of defense led by Willie Cauley-Stein’s 5 blocks.

Julius Randle had a team high 21 points and his 11 rebounds account for his second pre-season double.

Montevallo’s Troran Brown had a game high 29 points including 2 that came by way of a James Young hustle play where he ran out-of-bounds near Montevallo’s three-point line, tossed the ball back into play behind his back, and it went into the goal. Rule says that because Young scored – it didn’t count as a three and Brown, the closest opposing player receives credit.

Young (16 ponts, 5 rebounds) later twisted his ankle on a defensive play. No word was available as to the extent, but it is expected to be a slight ankle sprain as Young was able to renter the game with a slight limp,

Kentucky will face UNC Asheville Friday at 7:00PM in Lexington with the game available on FS South/UK IMG.
