Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: What To Watch For

Have no fear Wildcat fans we only have to wait one more day to watch our 2013-14 squad match up against Transylvania. There are a few things to take note of in this game, first being that Andrew Harrison this years point guard prodigy is out with a knee contusion so we will get to see sophomore Alex Poythress get the start. What I will be watching for is seeing the depth of this Wildcat team wear down the Pioneers as they will to most teams this season. We haven’t had a team with this much depth since the Pitino days of Antione Walker, Tony Delk and Derek Anderson.

This will be a fantastic year for Cal and the Wildcats who potentially have the best team ever assembled in college basketball if they live up to expectations. We as fans should cherish this season because this is truly something special that all of us are going to be witnesses of, in my eyes I see championship number nine coming home to Lexington with Cal this coming spring. If and only if we play team ball, avoid major injuries and everyone buys into Cal’s system we will be a force and will be feared throughout the nation. Get ready to embark on a crazy ride Wildcat faithful, the Big Blue Nation will surely be rocking all year long.
