After the loss to Mississippi State last Thursday there were few things that Kentucky fans could hold their heads up about. One being our fight from all of our players but the huge one was the amazing performance of our defensive line and more importantly senior defensive end Bud Dupree. Dupree showed his true star potential as a pass rusher against Mississippi State and it clearly didn’t go unnoticed as he was recognized as Honorable Mention by the College Football Performance Awards Board.

Dupree led the Wildcats with 13 tackles against the Bulldogs and was creating complete and utter chaos for Mississippi States offensive line and quarterback Dak Prescott. Bud also added a sack and two tackles for loss in a game that the Cats all over the field seemed to never give up or lose hope. He was named Midseason All-Southeastern Conference by Phil Steele College Football about two weeks ago and  is having a strong season for Kentucky leading the team with 6.5 tackles for loss, while he is second on the team with 4.5 sacks. Bud is second in total tackles this season with 41, adding a forced fumble, pass breakup and two quarterback hurries. Dupree ranks fifth in the SEC and 29th nationally in sacks per game and also ranks 15th in the SEC with 6.8 tackles per game. Can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Bud as he is looking more and more like a NFL pass rusher each and every week.
