Last night was another heartbreaking loss for Mark Stoops and his Wildcats but the 2014 commitments have been sending out a steady presence on social media. HELP IS ON THE WAY. And one of the biggest players still out there, Matt Elam, is looking more and more like a future Wildcat. Some would say that he is Kentucky’s to lose.

Rival’s football analyst Mike Farrell seems to have that point of view.

"Farrell responded that he considered the four-star defensive tackle to be a “Kentucky lean and theirs to lose.” The Rivals analyst confirmed that position and expounded on it during an interview with the Herald-Leader on Wednesday. “I believe that, I really do,” Farrell said. “I think Matt’s the type of kid that likes the attention. I think Matt’s the type of kid who will take his visits, who will be flattered by the big schools. Almost awe-inspired by some of them. I think it’s extremely tempting to be recruited (at that position) at Notre Dame, where Louis Nix is. Or at Alabama, where they’ve put like the last three of those guys in the NFL. “But when all is said and done, I think he wants to stay home. That’s just my feeling.” Farrell twice referred to Elam as an “extremely important” recruit for Coach Mark Stoops and the 2014 class. Not just because of his play on the field, but also due to his status as a top in-state target coveted by the nation’s best. “It’s more important that he’s an in-state guy that Alabama, Notre Dame and others want,” he said. “If they can keep him, it would be similar to (getting) Drew Barker.”"

While the 2014 class is wrapping up, another target just re-landed on UK’s 2015 board as Warren East LB Eli Brown has de-committed from Vanderbilt.

"The 6-foot-2-inch, 192-pound Brown verbally committed to Vanderbilt in June. At the time, he also had scholarship offers from Kentucky, Ohio State and Western Kentucky. He also reported interest from Louisville, Florida, Cincinnati and Indiana. Brown has 48 tackles through eight games for Warren East (4-4), along with 1,033 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 125 carries. He’s rated a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and is among the site’s Top 250 prospects to watch in the 2015 class. In August, Brown told the Daily News he had become ready to commit to Vanderbilt and coach James Franklin after a “draining” spring recruitment period. He had six coaches visit during one school day in April, he said. “It was overwhelming,” Brown said in August. “I was getting tired, coming out of class and missing classwork, so I was like, ‘I can’t do this.’ Last year, it was kind of draining. I didn’t want to go through all that during my junior and senior year. I wanted to give it all to my team.” Brown will apparently start looking at his options again this weekend. He confirmed on Twitter that he will visit WKU on Saturday for the Hilltoppers’ homecoming game against Troy with Bowling Green HIgh School senior receiver Nacarius Fant, a Tops commit."
