By the title most fans probably think I am out of my mind by saying that we as Kentucky fans should feel good about our loss to South Carolina. Why do I say this then you ask? I say this because each week we are seeing this young Wildcat team get better and better, which is something we honestly can’t say we’ve seen in awhile.
From the young play makers on offense to the secondary on defense, each game the Cats are progressively showing improvement. On offense you see players like Timmons, Blue, Whitlow and Kemp all making smarter plays each and every week and the fight that each of these guys are showing every week is something to be proud of as fans. The fight is what has kept us in ballgames this season, sure we could’ve been blown out playing South Carolina but the determination and grit shown by these young players kept us on the edge of our seats as spectators and I personally thought we might actually have a chance at winning that game.
With Whitlow at the helm of our very speedy offense it seems that any team we play, even Alabama, will be taking note of the play making ability of this offense and will be in the film room just a little longer than anticipated. I think after the South Carolina game head coaches around the league will be looking at Kentucky as a legitimate threat to upset anyone home or away and see that we have potential moving forward. I’m seeing some very interesting games coming up in the Cats future and wouldn’t be surprised if we pulled off an upset against Missouri at home and possibly give Georgia a run for their money in Athens. Things are surely looking up and sky is the limit for this young up and coming squad and Mark Stoops knows it and so does the rest of the SEC.
