Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Quentin Goodin Makes Unofficial Visit

The 2013-14 season hasn’t even started yet and coach Cal is already getting interest from class of 2016 player, Quentin Goodin.  Goodin is a local basketball player from Taylor county and is expected to be one of the top players in his class according to WLEX-18′s True Blue Fan page.  According to TrueBlueFan.com, Goodin has been offered to participate in a USA Basketball Developmental National Team mini-camp next month that features only 48 players.

Taylor County head basketball coach, Rich Gatewood tweeted a picture from yesterday’s visit.  Appears as though Goodin and company enjoyed their visit.  Hopefully, that translates into another commitment for the Cats.

You have to appreciate the fact that Goodin is just a sophomore and comparisions can get kind of out of hand.

With that in mind, he is one of the top players in the country in his class. Quentin has even been invited as one of 48 players to take part in a USA Basketball Developmental National Team mini-camp next month.

His Taylor County High School Coach, Richard Gatewood, compares Goodin to John Wall. He says he is that quick and has a motor that most kids don’t have.

Goodin already has 8 offers on the table including Indiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, who has Travis Ford, as head coach and Western Kentucky. His visit to UK is likely to earn him some more looks from schools across the country.
