With the 2012 college basketball season vastly approaching, John Calipari is turning up the heat of the class of 2014 recruiting class in order to get a few more commitments before the season hits, and with Karl Towns already in the fold, he’d like to add at least one more big man to the 2014 class.
While Jahil Okafor is the player everyone wants, he still remains a longshot, and the next option will be five-star center Myles Turner of Euless, Texas.
Calipari visited the Turners at their home earlier this month, and Cal left an impression on them:
“(The visit) was great,” David Turner said. “It was great to meet Coach Cal and (assistant) coach (Kenny) Payne. Man, it was actually very impressive.”
David Turner said his son could play well alongside Towns:
“Myles will play any role you need him to play. He’s just that kind of guy, a team guy. No matter who he’s playing with, as long as they have the focus to win and compete, Myles will get along great.”
