With Pro-Bowl linebacker Von Miller out for the Denver Broncos due to his suspension John Fox and Jack Del Rio looked towards their bench for answers. Del Rio, the defensive coordinator of the Broncos looked the way of former Kentucky Wildcat standout Danny Trevathan to fill that void. Trevathan is helped by another former cat in Wesley Woodyard and veteran Shaun Phillips. These 3 have been keeping pressure on the quarterback as well as making the Broncos one of the best coverage teams in the NFL.
With the speed of Woodyard and Trevathan it seems that the Broncos could keep their linebackers on the field at all times and not have to worry about them getting beat by opposing tight ends. This will become key especially when Miller is back in the rotation because they will be able to send him on the blitz and have the other linebackers drop back into coverage to make opposing quarterbacks very confused. That looks to be an absolute nightmare for offensive coordinators around the league to figure out how the Broncos defense will come at you now a days, they have so many weapons in the secondary, d-line and linebackers that Jack Del Rio can throw different packages on the field at will and not skip a beat. If Trevathan continues to play the way he is right now he could potentially earn the spot starting for the long run.
