Since we are talking PG’s, ESPN’s National Recruiting Director Paul Biancardi answered a question re:  a package deal including Stanley Johnson and PG Justice Winslow.  Now, these package deals are always a bit of a tricky proposition since they are still merely kids but grabbing these two would be amazing.

"#AskCoachB Can Stanley Johnson & Justise Winslow team up at UK with Winslow at point guard since John Calipari is lacking options? — @choudini They absolutely can end up together as both Johnson and Winslow have Kentucky on their final list of schools. Winslow is ultra competitive and brings a lot to the table and influences the outcome of a contest in many ways. On the fast break he is a good facilitator and decision-maker, as well as an excellent finisher. Put him in the halfcourt set and he gladly takes on the challenge to defend the other team’s best player. He is the best in the class at individual defense and can defend multiple positions. Offensively, Winslow will penetrate and find his open teammates as his vision and unselfishness are evident. His jumper is solid from the elbow and he certainly effects the game without scoring , but he is not wired nor does he possess all the true skills needed to be a difference-maker as a point guard. He can fill in for a short time as a point guard in a pinch as he does process the game well. If the Wildcats of Kentucky were fortunate to land both they would still need a true point guard to lead their team."

Since recruiting is a profession unto itself, Coach Cal has been busy recruiting #2 Overall 2015 Prospect Stephen Zimmerman.  He holds a pretty rare distinction in that class as he actually has a scholarship offer from Kentucky.  And though we officially have a center on the 2013 squad, at 7’1″, he would be the most true center sized player I’ve seen Cal recruit.

"John Calipari will be in Las Vegas later this week to see one of his top recruiting targets in the Class of 2015. Stephen Zimmerman — a 7-foot center — will get a visit from Calipari on Friday, his mother told the Herald-Leader. Rivals.com and Scout.com consider Zimmerman the No. 2 overall prospect in his class. He met with Louisville Coach Rick Pitino on Wednesday. Lori Zimmerman said her son also has visits set up with Kansas and Arizona. Stephen Zimmerman tweeted a photo Wednesday showing all of his recruiting letters from that day’s mail run. There were several dozen from hometown UNLV, and others from North Carolina, Indiana, LSU, Minnesota, Michigan, Kansas, Baylor, N.C. State and Miami. Zimmerman is one of only six players in the Class of 2015 with a scholarship offer from Kentucky."

Cal’s only 2014 commit has a new mixed tape out and oh my word…Karl Towns is a BEAST!

And for a bonus, here is a video of co-coach DeMarcus Cousins mic’d up for the Annual Alumni Charity Game that took place earlier this week.  Man I miss watching him play.
