Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Looking towards the Alumni game

It’s almost here. The UK Alumni game is quickly escalating, as tickets are being sold at a rapid rate for monday night’s 2010 vs. 2012 Kentucky Wildcat Alumni charity event. There’s been quite the buzz going around about DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall, as they may be coaching, as well as playing in the event. What could be better than watching a bunch of talented wildcat players run the court. The suspected players to participate are:

2010:  John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, DeMarcus Cousins, Josh Harrellson, Ramon Harris, Mark Krebs, Darius Miller, Daniel Orton, Patrick Patterson, Perry Stevenson

2012:  Darius Miller, Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Twany Beckham

Darius Miller was listed twice, and he may play for both teams in either half. Overall, there is quite a list of players that have given wildcat fans pride over the years. Like many of you, I expect to see a lot of highlight reel plays along with an offensive showdown. Obviously the players won’t play all out, as they have before when they played at Kentucky, but I still am looking forward to the amount of talent that will be showcased in front of many fans.

By looking at the match-ups it’s hard to tell who might run away with it. The players will definitely keep the game interesting because they know people have come to see an exciting show. Every player besides Mark Krebs has the potential to throw it down someone’s throat if they aren’t paying attention. Hopefully Mark can scrape in a few baskets here and there though, and I’m sure he will. I am definitely looking forward to this match-up and many Big Blue fans will see something special monday night.
