Looking through the 2011 and 2012 runs to the Final Four for the Kentucky Wildcats these days is becoming closer and closer to a $1 buy of Crime Times.
After this weekend, which featured 3 players who were arrested/investigated for beating their girlfriends and Terrence Jones’ summer altercation with a homeless man’s leg, it certainly is not nearly as joyous as the last time these players met in the NCAA tournament.
- As reported earlier this week, former Kentucky Wildcat DeAndre Liggins was arrested Saturday for allegedly assaulting the mother of his child. Liggins, who is accused of punching the mother of his child in the head, knocking in a bathroom door after she locked herself in, then dropping a fan, and later an XBox 360 on her head, played for Kentucky from 2008-20011.
- Earlier this summer, Terrence Jones was arrested for assaulting a homeless man by stomping on his leg. Jones played for both the 2011 Final Four team and the 2012 National Championship team.
- On that same run up to the Final Four, Kentucky played and beat Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger during the Elite 8. In fact, Sullinger likely has a tattoo of the basketball Harrellson Sullinger pled not guilty Tuesday on charges of assaulting his girlfriend by pinning her to the floor. He also pled not-guilty to charges of intimidation of a witness.
- It was announced that Royce White, who played for Iowa State in 2012 and was beaten in the Round of 32 by Kentucky, was under investigation for the assault on his girlfriend in June. His girlfriend had called 911 but reported the cut above her eye as an accident. She is now telling police in Houston that he assaulted her and that she lied to protect his NBA career.
Here’s a complete log of arrest around the NBA… which also features some Tar Heels (Ty Lawson) and Cardinals (Terrence Williams and Derrick Caracter)… so mind your manners rival fans.
